A home away from home.
Harmony Grove is a place where a child is looked after with love and warmth, in a family setting rather than a classroom.
We are dedicated to caring for your child well, and we take pride in making daycare a good memory for both of you. We encourage curiosity through play, activity and conversation, and we cook healthy meals here at the house. Getting to know a child closely is what lets us understand what each one needs.
Sue and her team have been caring for families for more than thirty years. We keep an open, close relationship with parents, because you know your child best and we want to hear it.
Our goal is to look after your child's sense of wonder about the world around them, in a safe and loving place.
A day here
How the day is shaped.
Young children settle when the day is predictable. This is our basic rhythm — it flexes for naps, for babies, and for the days nobody wants to come inside.

The home
Room to run, and a door that's always open.
We are licensed for six children plus two school-age, but we keep it to no more than three children per caregiver. The back yard is fully fenced, with plenty of room to play and to eat outside — and on the rare day the coastal weather doesn't oblige, we stay in.

Health & safety
What happens when someone gets sick.
Six children share this house, so we are careful. Here is exactly what we ask of you, so there are no surprises on a hard morning.
Fever
A child with a fever of 100° or above cannot stay at the daycare, and needs to be fever-free for 24 hours before returning. They may come back the following day.
Medication
We can't give any prescription or over-the-counter medicine — including pain and fever medication — without a written note from a doctor specifying when to give it, plus the physician's phone number and a liability release for emergency treatment.
Emergencies
In an emergency, including a dental one, we call 911 and your child is taken to the nearest hospital. We call you immediately.
Symptoms that mean we'll ask you to pick up within the hour
A child may return once they are symptom-free, or with a doctor's note saying they can rejoin group care.
- Fever of 100° or above
- Red, irritated, sore throat with trouble swallowing
- Unusually dark, tea-colored urine
- Heavy green nasal discharge
- Severe cough
- Gray or white stools
- Headache and stiff neck
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- An unknown skin rash
- Eye infection
- Any contagious illness — chicken pox, roseola, rubella, measles and the like
- Unusual behavior: crankier or less active than normal, crying more than usual, general discomfort
